Our logo is a mini story. It is meant to represents the profound meaning behind our work. The two doors behind the girl and dog have double meaning, symbolizing closing the door to the past and opening the door to the future. There is light shining on the girl and dog representing hope and transformation. The dog, with its paw placed on the survivor's heart, symbolizes the unbreakable bond, love, and trust between them and that they are there to touch and heal their hearts. This logo encapsulates our commitment to providing a safe environment for survivors on their next step on the path to healing.
Our organization's journey started with a phone call to our founder..with the caller saying..."We have been everywhere and asked everyone and they all said 'No, I'm sorry, you don't meet our requirements'...Can you help us?" Without thinking, our founder said "yes, I will help you". At the time, the founder thought they were helping a single person. The founder said "I was blind, uneducated, and unaware of the staggering need for help for these courageous and resilient survivors..we will answer their call for help"
That began the journey of multi agency and multi organization meetings that led to the conclusion that there needed to be a central organization for meeting the needs of these amazing survivors.
At Dignity Dogs Foundation, our mission is help transform the lives of survivors of trauma through the life-changing assistance and unwavering companionship of highly trained service dogs. Although we were founded specifically for survivors of human trafficking, we recognize that there are others out there that may have suffered from trauma who don't fall into a 'group' or 'category.' Our Founders unique and complex background has charged us with one primary directive. We help the forgotten ones, the ignored ones, and the ones waiting in the shadows to be helped. We believe in the profound healing power of the human-animal bond and are committed to helping survivors continue on a journey of healing and resilience with the support of one of our canine partners.
The road to recovery is a journey with many stops along the way. Your journey is is unique to you and we are here to help you on that journey. Send us a message, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
